When the weekend rolls around, you want to do something fun in order to relieve all of the stress that comes with work or school. Going out to clubs with your friends or with a date is a great way to do just that. You'll be able to enjoy a great night of dancing, some good music, and maybe even a few cocktails. But one minor problem that you'll have to deal with first is trying to decide what you will wear. Going clubbing is not the same as hanging out at your neighborhood bar. When you just stop by the local watering hole for a beer or two, you can definitely get by wearing jeans and a t-shirt or whatever else you happen to have on. When you go clubbing, however, things are a bit different. You'll want to look hot!
I want to clarify right at the start here that "hot" doesn't have to mean "trashy". There are plenty of very tasteful outfits that will allow you to show off what you've got without revealing way too much. Let's look at tops first. Most of the young women that I see at clubs are wearing either tube tops, tanks, halter tops, or baby tees (short, tight t-shirts). Within each of these categories, of course, you have a myriad of options. I saw a beautiful tube top the other day when I was shopping online. Instead of the regular cut and shape that you expect from a tube top, this one had an unevenly cut floral hem. The hem hit the waist on one side, while on the other it exposed some skin up to the midriff. It was a very dramatic and sexy (but still tasteful) effect. So if you want something a bit different in a tube top, check out the hemlines and go for unexpected cuts.
Next, you'll need something to wear with your great top. Miniskirts are everywhere on the club scene, so you can't go wrong by stocking up on these. There are of course many styles, colors, and fabrics to choose from. For a skirt that is form-fitting and hugs your hips, look for something made from a blend of polyester and Spandex (or similar). Even if there is just 5% or 10% Spandex content, you will still be able to get a great fit with enough flexibility to allow you to move. There's nothing worse than wearing a tight skirt to a club and then not being able to dance because the material is so constricting! Denim skirts are also an option. The good thing about denim is that it is durable and easy to clean, so you don't have to constantly worry about spilling things on your new skirt. Denim doesn't have to be boring. Again, if you look for original designs and unusual hemlines, you'll be able to pull off a great look.
Overall, putting together a hot clubbing outfit is not that difficult. Go shopping with some girlfriends whose opinions you trust, and just remember not to overdo it!
