The weather is warming up and it is time to shed the heavy sweaters and coats. But, what are the hottest looks for girls this season?
Belly baring tops are on the way out. Instead, go with lightweight spring shirts of flowing fabrics with fun prints or kicky appliqués. Gauzy bohemian blouses keep any girl cool on a steamy day and tunics are perfect for spring weather transitions.
Short shorts are okay for the pool, but for the rest of the time pick crisp shorts that hit mid-thigh. Bermudas are big this season and board shorts continue to be popular items for girls as well as guys.
In skirts, nearly anything goes except for the skintight mini. Flounces and ruffles abound in the gypsy style casual skirts that range from mid-thigh to mid-calf. A-line skirts are popping up in bright and cheery prints, from floral to citrus slices.
The blazer is back. A new batch of casual blazers is out and can be worn as a topper for nearly anything. Put a spring green cotton blazer with a floral-print, flounced skirt for a fresh look that spouts spring.
Straight and tapered leg pants have been supplanted by ankle styles that range from boot-cut to flares. Jeans continue to be classic as a new class of comfortable, casual twills takes center stage.
Dresses are super-fun and swingy this spring. Spaghetti straps abound on dresses in a range of candy shop colors. The 70s styles that re-launched the poncho in the fall have inspired halter dresses that would make any Stepford wife proud.
Sandals are strappier than ever and come in every pastel and bright color imaginable. Pair shocking pink or orange sandals with neutral pants for a look sure to make people turn around and smile. Sequined and jeweled shoes are still topping the charts, but make sure not to sacrifice arch support for glitz. Flats are practical and easy for spring, so tuck away the stilettos for now.
Whatever you choose, remember that being comfortable in your clothing is the most important key to good style. Wear designs that allow you to express your own nature while flirting with the possibilities life has to offer.
